Rooney - My Results
Martyn has been a promising 400m runner throughout his junior athletics career and has often commented that his long term future may lie over 800m.
Martyn's most memorable performance so far was breaking Roger Black's 21 year-old British junior record with 45.35 in his semi-final of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006 - he was 5th in the final in 45.51.
Martyn supports Crystal Palace and is partner of Great Britain pole vaulter Kate Dennison.
He is based at Loughborough studying a foundation in Sports science and management.
